JAMES ROY James Arthur Roy, 80, passed away Aug. 28, 2012, at UCLA Medical Center. Jim was born in Milwaukee, to Eleanor (Mattick) and Frank Roy. Jim worked for Engines Inc., the family business. In 1978, Jim purchased part of that business and had a successful 20-year career running Engines Store 6161 with his wife, Gwen. He served as president of the Wisconsin Automotive Wholesalers Association. Jim and Gwen, "Dolphin," were married in Las Vegas, Oct. 5, 1969. They had a wonderful marriage, and worked side-by-side to expand the business and enjoy life. They traveled to Hawaii and Las Vegas many times, as well as Monaco, Alaska, Aruba, and the Panama Canal. After Gwen died in 1997, Jim moved to Las Vegas, where he lived until his death. Jim is survived by his sister, Nancy Roy, and her children, Jamian, Molly and Jonathan of Colorado; his brother, John Roy and wife, Jean, of Milwaukee; his aunt, Betty Jane Schreiber and her children of Texas; cousins, Karen Ann (Bob) Benz and children of Wauwatosa, Wis.; and Mary Lynn Mattick of Wauwatosa; close friends; and "adopted" family members, Del and Joan Behling of Racine, Brad Behling and daughters, Rachael and Arielle of Las Vegas, and Jay Benedict Brown of Colorado. Jimmy's passing leaves behind Gwen's children from a prior marriage, Timothy (Allison) Dittmann of Santa Barbara, Thomas Dittmann of Los Angeles, and Wendy Dittmann (Bill Porter) of Menomonie, Wis.; and grandchildren, Bridget (Coburn) Watson, Laura (Ross) Fyfe, and Mette and Bo Dittmann. Burial will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Jim was a 10-year cancer survivor. All of those who knew Jimmy will always remember his storytelling and great sense of humor, his loving and joyful devotion to Gwen, and his ability to fully embrace whatever life gave him and make good of it. He was one-of-a- kind. As he often said, "I had a good one."
