 JAMES TOWNSEND James Roy Townsend Jr., age 48, of Boulder City, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012. Roy was born Nov. 15, 1963, in Superior, Ariz., to James and Patricia Townsend. In 1972, they moved to Boulder City. Roy was a 1982 Boulder City High School graduate. Roy married Shannon Cichowlaz Aug. 19, 1995 in Boulder City. Roy worked as a project manager for Robinson Nevada Mining Co. in Ely. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved all sports and enjoyed coaching little league. Horses were another one of his passions; he was a member of the Boulder City Horseman's Association and Certified Ferrier Association. Roy is survived by his wife, Shannon Townsend; two children, Andrew (Shasta) Townsend and Aubrey Townsend; grandson, Talon James Townsend; parents, James and Pat Townsend; brother, Paul (Kelly) Townsend; two nieces, Kourtney Townsend and Katelyn Townsend; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Bethany Baptist Church, 210 Wyoming St., Boulder City. Burial following, at the Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in the name of Roy Townsend has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank.
