JEAN FLOWERS Jean Yvonne Flowers, 64, of Henderson, returned home to her Heavenly Father Feb. 11, 2010, surrounded by family following a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer. Jean was born Aug. 9, 1945, in San Diego, to Richard Arthur Barlow and Suzanne Yvonne Barlow. She married Terry Austin Flowers May 9, 1965, in Las Vegas, and they were sealed for time and eternity in the St. George Temple Oct. 19, 1985. Jean graduated from Basic High School in Henderson and worked as a child care provider and homemaker for many years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She loved children and her favorite calling was teaching the primary children and leading them in music. Jean was a devoted wife and mother with many gifts, but the one that brought her the most joy was giving to those in need. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She had a contagious smile and brought joy to everyone she came in contact with. Jean is survived by her husband, Terry Flowers of Henderson; two sons, Shane (Andrea) Flowers of Santaquin, Utah, and Brandon (Tana) Flowers of Henderson; four daughters, April (Mike) Flickinger of Nephi, Utah, Shelly (Kirt) Wilkerson of Springville, Utah, Amy (Ken) Weast of Henderson, and Stephanie (Jeremy) Walker of Lehi, Utah; four brothers, Gary of Henderson, Steve of Woodland, Calif., Jon of Las Vegas, and Greg of Henderson; two sisters, Joyce Pullen of Star, Idaho, and Christy DeHart of Las Vegas; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the medical team who did such a wonderful job in keeping Jean comfortable. In particular, we would like to thank Dr. Rupesh Parikh and his staff for their compassion, love and support. A viewing will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, in Henderson. A second viewing will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, with funeral services following, both at the Henderson Nevada Black Mountain Stake Center, 801 Arrowhead Trail, in Henderson. Jean's body will be laid to rest at the Palm Memorial Park, in Henderson.
