 JEAN NEWLIN Jean S. Newlin, 76, a retired registered nurse, of Florence, Ky., passed away Nov. 30, 2012. She was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Columbia, Mo., and was a 47-year resident of Nevada. She moved to Las Vegas with her husband and children in the early 1960's. She worked at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital, for a local pediatrician's office, and finally for the Clark County Health Department before retiring in 1999. She moved to Florence in 2008, to be near her grandchildren. She was very active in the dog show community in Las Vegas in the 1980's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Newlin. She is survived by her children, Bill Newlin, Jeff Newlin, John Newlin and Beth Abate; daughters-in-law, Cathi Newlin and Trina Newlin; son-in-law, Jeff Abate; grandchildren, Ethan and Connor Abate, and Noah Newlin; and five step-grandchildren. Her ashes will be interred at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. No services are planned. Donations may be made to the
