 JEROME MILLER Jerome "Jerry" L. Miller, 73, of North Las Vegas, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 19, 1939 in Wisconsin, son of Leona and the late Ralph Miller. Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. He married LaVerne Walters, Oct. 13, 1962. Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years, followed by three years in the U.S. Reserves. In 1966, he became a firefighter with the City of Manitowoc, Wis., retiring in 1990. Jerry and LaVerne's lifelong dream was to retire in the sunny southwest, so in March 1990, they moved to Arizona, then relocated to Nevada. He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, LaVerne; his children: Michael, Mark (Kara), Kris (Peter) and Connie (Jeff); seven grandchildren; one great- grandchild; his mother, Leona; brother, Ronald (Sandy); and sister, Diane (Rich); mother-in-law, Dorothy Walters; seven sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and other friends and relatives. Friends may join the family for a memorial service at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
