 JERRY BELT Jerry M. Belt, 77, of Las Vegas, passed away and moved on to greener fairways Oct. 10, 2012. He was born in Coon County Township, Iowa Nov. 26, 1934. A beloved husband, father, retired professional golfer and true "gentleman's gentleman," he was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Ruth; and brother, Dwayne (Glenys). He is survived by his wife, of 53 years, Diane; daughter, Lauri Babb (Scott); son, Jerry (Katie); daughter, Tami; grandchildren, Cameron and Aidan; brothers, Jim (Barbara) and David (Mable); sisters, Peggy Hoskin (Clarence) and Donna; and numerous nieces and nephews. Throughout his life, he was known as a family man and a patient, witty, loving individual. He was unanimously elected into the inaugural class of the Nevada Golf Hall of Fame and touched the lives and golf games of thousands of his students. His prowess on the golf course will also be remembered. The legacy of his life stretches far and wide. All who knew him will miss him dearly and remember him fondly as he walks the green fairways of Heaven, "driving for show and putting for dough." We love you, we miss you, and we will always remember you. Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Tee.
