JIMMYE LOU LIVINGSTON Obituary
JIMMYE LOU LIVINGSTON Jimmye Lou Livingston passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017, with family by her side, in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was a brilliant Bridge player, an expert organizer and packer, a wonderful cook and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Jimmye Lou was the only child of Herman "Smokey" and Ethyl "Nellie" Nelson. She was born Thursday, April 25, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jimmye Lou is survived by her husband, of 51 years, Col. Jerry Livingston; and by her five children; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. Jimmye Lou attended Central State University (now The University of Central Oklahoma) in Edmond and William and Mary College in Virginia. She began of one of her favorite adventures, a United States Air Force officer's wife February 5, 1966. She and her loving husband, Jerry Livingston, were stationed all across the United States in places such as Virginia, Alaska, Arkansas, Illinois, and North Carolina, before finally retiring at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. In retirement, they made sure to visit friends all across the country as part of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Alumni Association. One of her other favorite adventures was spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jimmye Lou and Jerry spent many hours in either their Lincoln Town Car or their Argosy travel trailer canvassing New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Tennessee to see family. She was known to travel with several decks of cards, a new board game, Fiddle Faddle, warm Diet Coke, a Snickers Blizzard, and a variety of knickknacks to stuff into Christmas socks. Memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 16, at Crawford Family Funeral Home, 610 NW 178th St., Edmond, OK 73012, (405) 340-2333.
