JOSEPH BORDINO Sr. Obituary
JOSEPH BORDINO SR. Joseph Anthony Bordino Sr. , 75, passed away May 9, 2017, at Nathan Adelson Hospice, in Las Vegas, due to kidney failure, following a lengthy illness. Joe was born June 28, 1941, in Passaic, N.J., to Angelo and Josephine Bordino. He grew up with his younger brother, Philip, performing and recording Country and Rockabilly as the Dino Brothers in the 1950s. Joe also arranged and produced record hops and CYO dances, often featuring top singers and groups of the day. He married Anita in 1961 and was an especially proud father of Joseph Bordino Jr. (Diane) of Lake Worth, Fla., and Deborah Salvaggio (Daniel) of Upper Saddle River, N.J., both of whom inherited Joe's sense of humor and love of family. Along with his five grandchildren and two nieces, he eagerly followed every graduation, birthday and accomplishment, and tried to keep in touch with his family whenever he could. A diehard Yankee fan with a giant heart, Joe was generous to a fault, loving and caring, with an incredible sense of humor and a loud, rolling laugh. He loved travel, Broadway theater, live sporting events, music and entertainment of all types. In 1981, Joe moved to south Florida to escape the cold weather. He retired in 1987, and relocated to Las Vegas in 1990. He adored his two cats, Thurston and Anthony, who still sit by the front door anticipating his return from the hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New Jersey. "Once you meet him, you never forget him."
