JOSEPH CAP Joseph "Coach" Cap, passed away Nov. 7, 2012. Joe was born May 14, 1976, in Las Vegas. He graduated from Clark High School in 1994 and the University of Nevada Reno in 1999. He was a member of the ATO Fraternity. Joe received a dual masters in education and physiology from UNLV. Joe was humble about his many personal accomplishments, including being named "Coach of the Year" 2008 SNWCA Sunset Region and also in 2011. Those who knew Joe knew his pride came from seeing his students succeed. Joe was a teacher, coach, and valued leader at Bonanza High School. He loved coaching, his easy-going manner made him a natural mentor. He was devoted to his students and beloved by them. He provided his students with critical guidance over the difficult hurdles of high school. Everyone knew they could depend on Joe to be there for them and help them do the right thing. His life was too short, but his legacy will last a lifetime. Joe loved travel and made friends easily. His dream was to open a sports facility and training center for young athletes. Joe was loved and admired by his family. He is survived by parents, Joe and Ginny Cap; aunts, Mary Toti, Janet Cap and Betty (Rene) Merritt; uncle, Ron (Stephanie); cousins, Donnie Toti, Frank Toti, Susan (Greg) Smith, Jennifer (David) Bryan, Nick Chrisman, Candy Chrisman, Hailey Cap, Jaimie and Nolan Bryan, Simone and Samantha Smith, Truth Toti, Sheri Meinhart, Kyle and Garry Vandenkooy, Steve Olsen and John Olson; and his beloved dog, Athena Jean. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Jim Cap; and grandparents, Jean and Joe Cap and Frances and Donald Malone. We cannot overestimate the valuable "gifts" Joe has given our children during his years coaching and teaching, he loved his students and athletes, inspired them, and wanted them to succeed, for all that, we thank him. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
