KATHLEEN VELTRE Obituary
KATHLEEN VELTRE Kathleen Bliss Veltre, of Henderson, passed away September 30, 2017. She was born July 6, 1947, to John and Catherine Bliss in Jersey City, New Jersey. Before moving to Nevada, Kathy was a cherished resident of Old Bridge, New Jersey. Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Nicknamed "Red" by her husband for her blazing red hair, she was a vivacious spirit, filled with laughter and love. She lit up the room with her penchant for all things that sparkle. She is fondly remembered by many as a warm and generous friend. Kathy had a passion for Bingo and worked many years as a Bingo manager in Las Vegas. Although she was devoted to her job, Kathy's true passion was for her family. She cherished visiting and traveling with her boys and their children. Family was always at the center of her heart and, for that, she will be sorely missed by all those that were fortunate to love her. She was preceded in death by her son, William; and her parents. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, of 50 years, Armond "Jerry;" three loving sons, Adam (Heather) of New Jersey, Keith (Lisa) of Henderson, and Brian (Shayna) of Henderson; eight adoring grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Kyle, Cameron, Cassidy, Jaiden, McKayla and Brianna; three brothers, Johnny (Joan), William and Richard (Michelle); and two sisters, Barbara (Ricky) and Pamela (John). She was a cherished aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews whom she left an indelible mark on their lives. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Thursday, October 5, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 6, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson, NV 89074. The family wishes that donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, www.nah.org
