KENNETH DAVENPORT Kenneth Robert Davenport, 53, of Las Vegas, passed away April 29, 2012. He was born Sept. 7, 1958 in Lansdowne, Pa., and was a 14-year Nevada resident. Ken started his career at Caesars Atlantic City in 1980, where he was later appointed managing director of Caesars at Sea for the Crystal Harmony Cruise Line. He then moved with Caesars to Windsor, Ontario as director of table games. In 1998, Ken joined the Venetian as a founder and vice president of casino operations. Over his career, Ken opened six casinos, three in Windsor, Ontario, the Venetian, and the Plazzo, both on the Las Vegas Strip, and the Sands Macau Casino. As a boy, Ken was a competitive swinger at the Lansdowne Swim Club, and a member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he proudly earned his Eagle Scout Award. He adored his cat, Pawly, and the many hours he spent challenging his brother Billy, or anyone up to to it, to a game of chess. Ken also enjoyed poker night, traveling with friends, and their many adventures. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Paula Davenport; and beloved brother, Billy Davenport. Ken is survived by his sisters, Karin Kitchen and Kim Hightower; brother, James Davenport; aunt, Stella Maryanski; as well as extended family and friends, who will sadly miss him, but remember him fondly. Services were previously held. Contributions can be made to Ken Davenport Memorial Fund, c/o Sandra Zaremba, 10331 Burensburg Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89135.
