KURT GUTBRODT Kurt Donald Gutbrodt, a 33-year resident of Las Vegas and a retired Metro Police officer of 32 years, passed away July 18, 2012, at UCLA Ronald Regan Medical Center in Los Angeles, surrounded by his wife and children. Kurt was born July 11, 1955, in Troy, N.Y., and was preceded in death by his father, Donald Gutbrodt. He is survived by his wife, Susan Gutbrodt; son, Michael; four daughters, Angelica, Paula, Melissa and Diana; mother, Betty Jean Gutbrodt; brother, Keith Gutdbrodt; and three grandchildren. Kurt was always calm and collected, strong and brave, witty and intelligent, handsome and caring, a remarkable individual who will be deeply and sorely missed. We are privileged and proud to have shared our lives with him. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, at Shadow Hills Baptist Church 7811 Vegas Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89128. Burial will be at Palm Memorial Park-Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations can be made to the UCLA Brain Research Institute, www.bri.ucla.edu
