He was born March 7, 1936 in LaGrange County, Ind., and grew up in Elkhart. He graduated from Jimtown High School in 1954 and was employed as a machinist at Miles Laboratories for over 25 years. Upon retiring from Miles, Larry owned the Bowen's Lodge fishing resort in Deer River, Minn. for five years and the Lamp Shop in Elkhart for two years after that. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; his children, Tim Miller, Terri Miller, Cheryl Dees and Mike (Chelle) Miller; stepdaughter, Amy (Danny) Gigante; his brothers and sisters, Shirley Rumfelt, Peggy Basse, Dave (Joyce) Miller, Dick (Pamela) Miller and Ruth Ann (Tom) Shirley; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan of Jimtown High School, Notre Dame, the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears. Whether it was playing cards, bowling, jigsaw puzzles or gardening, he led an active life. Larry went to the Lied Senior Day Care here in Las Vegas for eight years where he was so loved by the staff. Services are private at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N.
