SMSGT. LAWRENCE HILL U.S. Air Force, Retired Lawrence Hill, 73, a loving father, brother, uncle and husband passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. He served over 22 years in the U.S. Air Force and was a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Among the many medals he earned were the AF Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star, AF Good Conduct Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, AF Outstanding Unit Award with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Longevity Service Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and Vietnam Gallantry Cross with device. After his retirement from the Air Force, Lawrence worked eight years at Hyster and over 14 years for the U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by a sister; two nieces; his son, Michael; and his loving wife, Kimiko. A service and burial were held privately with full military honors for the family at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
