LELAND HAMILTON He lived life on his terms and did it his way. Leland J. Hamilton courageously fought a battle that he did not win but gave it all with humor, unwavering spirit, and his faith in God. Leland passed away from this earth July 31, 2012. Leland was born in Las Vegas Jan. 25, 1963 to the union of Lloyd and Frankie Hamilton. He was a lifelong resident. Leland attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and completed his high school education at Bishop Gorman. He also attended several years at Community College of Southern Nevada. He was a member of Teamster's Local 631 and last worked in shipping and receiving for LC Industries. Leland was most proud of his work as a Troop Leader for Troop 412 of the Boy Scouts of America. He experienced significant joy working with young boys in his neighborhood, exposing them to new and exciting adventures. Leland is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; son, Breland; step-son, James; his father, Lloyd (Katherine) Hamilton; his mother, Frankie Hamilton; his sister, Jacqueline Hamilton Scott; his nieces, Frances Johnson and Ryahnn Jefferson; and nephew, Justin Jefferson. He also leaves a host of great nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives. Leland was preceded in death by his grandmother, Daisy Buffington; and his number one fan and sister, Rhonda Hamilton Jefferson. A memorial service will be conducted at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6200 S. Eastern Avenue at 11 a.m., on August 7.
