LEONARD DEL GENIO Leonard S. "Lenny" Del Genio, 69, passed away Sept. 26, 2012. Lenny was born March 22, 1943, in New York City, and was a 45-year resident of Las Vegas. He attended Indiana State University on a football scholarship and entered the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. Lenny served in Paris, where he met and married Annick, his wife, of 47 years. Lenny was a longtime casino executive, working at the many hotel and casinos of the Howard Hughes Corporation and Bally's. He opened and was general manager of casinos in Washington State and North Dakota. Lenny was known for his involvement in race and sports, notably as the innovator of setting odds for the Hollywood Academy Awards, appearing on national television many times, including Good Morning America and the Today Show. He was quoted worldwide for his odds and opinions on Hollywood top movies and actors. Lenny is survived by his wife, Annick; son, Leonard (Laurence); sisters, MaryLu (Peter) and Michele; brother, Freddy (Annie); cousins, Tommy Shipitz, and Paul and Sharon Carelli. There will be service celebrating Lenny's life at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
