LILYAN GOLDBERG Obituary
LILYAN GOLDBERG Lilyan Sendrow Goldberg, of Las Vegas, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of November 29, 2017, at home. She was 103 years and 7.5 months old. She was born April 14, 1914, in the borough of Manhattan, in New York City. She had two younger siblings, a brother, Harry, and sister, Ruth, both preceded her in death. Lilyan graduated from Girls High School in 1931 and Brooklyn College in 1938. Her professional career was spent as an Elementary School Teacher in the New York City Public School System, teaching primarily at Public Schools 5 and 46 in Brooklyn, New York. She married Solomon "Sam" Goldberg February 2, 1941. Her husband and daughter, Marilyn Belle Glovinsky, both of Las Vegas, also preceded her in death. She was a founding member of Las Vegas' Ner Tamid temple. Lilyan is survived by her son, Lewis (Carolyn) Goldberg of Alexandria, Virginia; her four grandchildren, Melissa (Todd) Lemoine of Las Vegas, Kimberly (Marco) Cooper of Alexandria, Virginia, David (Heather) Glovinsky of Phoenix, Arizona, and Shellee (fiance, Kenneth James) Goldberg of Alexandria, Virginia; three nieces, Elissa Beer of Las Vegas, Lauren (Floyd) Rogers of Wading River, New York, and Barbara Getzell of Las Vegas; nephew, Jerry Sendrow of Tampa, Florida; and six great grandchildren, Javon, Cristopher, Cassidy, Shayna, Adin and Colton. Service will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, December 3, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane. Burial following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., where she will join her husband and daughter.
