LOU REITZ Lou Reitz, 74, of Las Vegas, passed away Aug. 22, 2012. He was born Oct. 17, 1937, in Phonette, Texas, and moved to Las Vegas when he was six months old, where his father was working on the construction of Hoover Dam. He graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1956, where he served as the manager of the Nevada State Basketball Champions. He went on to the University of Nevada, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in 1961. After his return to Las Vegas, he became a realtor and owned and managed United Realty. He was a member of the Board of Realtors for 15 years and was chosen Realtor of the Month several times. Lou was an avid outdoorsman and an expert hunter, guiding several successful desert bighorn sheep hunts in the local mountains, as well as spending a season in the Yukon guiding big game hunters in Canada. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 40 years, Susan Reitz; his daughters, Kat Angeli and Laura Langford; and grandchildren, Nick Angeli, Joe Angeli and Rowan Langford. He is survived also by his brother, Robert Reitz; nephews, Andy Reitz and Christian Reitz; and Andy's children, Ashley and Travis, with whom he spent hours passing on his love of the wilderness. No services are scheduled.
