LOYD THOMASON Nov. 16, 1944 - Nov. 15, 2012 Loyd Wayne Thomason, "Dogie" to those who knew and loved him, lost his battle to pancreatic and liver cancer Nov. 15, 2012, surrounded by his family and friends. Dogie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS St. Clair County LST. After his service, he returned to Las Vegas, and married April L. Bayard. Dogie was a proud retired member of Carpenters Local 1780 and Laborers Local 872. Dogie is survived by his father, Clyde; his wife, of 45 years, April; sons, John, Frank and Jimy; daughter, Jodi; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Wes; and sister, Sandy. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
