MADELINE KERSEY Madeline Jean Kersey, 66, of Henderson, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Solari Hospice in Las Vegas. Maddy was born Jan. 27, 1946, in Chicago, to Bud and Bess Neven. She married Garry Kersey April 28, 1977, in Las Vegas. Garry died March 14, 2005. Maddy was a 1964 graduate of Marian Catholic High School in Chicago. She moved to Henderson in 1974, and later lived in Caliente before returning to Henderson in 2001. Maddy worked as a hostess, bartender and cocktail waitress around the Valley, including stints at Nick's Supper Club, Gus & Nicky's Supper Club and the Cavalier Lounge. She thought of every customer as a friend, and anyone who ever experienced her radiant smile will never forget it. She is survived by her son, Sean DeFrank and his wife, Melissa, of Henderson; her daughter, Nicki DeFrank of Las Vegas; her mother, Bess Neven of Henderson; her sister, Marilyn Nadeau of Panaca; her brother, Ron Neven and his wife, Linda, of Las Vegas; as well as many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by a reception to celebrate Maddy's life at Ichabod's Lounge, 3300 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas.
