 MARIO MACIAS Mario "Moe" Macias was born Dec. 12, 1928. He passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Moe was a native to Nevada. At 15, he began boxing and was lucky enough to travel the world, to countries which included Japan, the Philippines, and Australia, during the span of his career as a Bantam weight boxer. Until recently, Moe was still very involved in boxing and went to the gym daily, where he trained and mentored young fighters and worked for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Moe was preceded in death by his wife, Paticia; his son, Ricardo; and his daughter, Anita. He is survived by his brother, Sam Macias; daughter, Michelle Fenstermaker; and granddaughters, Morgan Fenstermaker and Aaron Fenstermaker. A celebration of Moe's life is pending. Donations may be made in Moe's name to the Nevada LBC, 2664 S. Highland, Las Vegas, NV 89109.
