MARTHA HERGENREDER Martha Ann Harris Hergenreder, a retired medical bookkeeper, of Las Vegas, born Aug. 12, 1932, suddenly passed away in the early hours of Feb. 9, 2013. Beloved wife of Raymond, she leaves a legacy of zest for life, passion for work and love for family and friends. Born and raised in Texas, she also lived in California, Washington, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Nevada, where she was a resident for over 20 years. She left school early to work and then to marry and continued as a career-woman and full-time mother for the rest of her life. She suffered from heart disease, but survived heart attacks and mini-strokes, surgeries and therapies to live an active life to the very end. Her passions were family, friends, water aerobics and travel. She is survived by her husband, soulmate and best friend, Raymond; children, Charles Steele (Betty), Catherine Bacon, Vickie Miller (Randy), Michael Bacon (Richard) and David Bacon (Jean); three grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
