MARTHA LOU "MARTI" ANDERSON Obituary
MARTHA LOU "MARTI" ANDERSON Martha Lou "Marti" Anderson (Morgan) passed away peacefully, August 28, 2017 at home in Reno. Her husband, Steve Anderson, was by her side as well as her immediate family, close friends and dog, Suzie. She was born Sept. 23 1969, in Las Vegas, to Robert and Mary Morgan. She graduated from Ed W. Clark High School in Las Vegas in 1987. She graduated from cosmetology school in southern Nevada and was a highly- skilled hair designer. She was frequently on the competition team for Supercuts and later worked at Solis Salon in Las Vegas. Marti lived with juvenile diabetes from the age of 12, but never let it deter her from living a full, active and joyful life. After suffering a stroke at age 29, she moved to Reno as she was unable to continue her career as a hair designer. She began working for High Sierra Industries, a career she loved and embraced with the same passion and commitment she always possessed. In 2003, she met the love of her life, Steve Anderson. They were married September 6, 2008 in Reno. They were passionate about celebrating life and all of the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. They decorated with reckless abandon, using their amazing collection of Day of the Dead, Disney and Christmas decorations. They loved their dog, Ginger, and newest addition, Suzie. While diabetes continued to challenge Marti's health, she was determined to love, laugh and life a full, rich and happy life with the loving support of her husband. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Morgan of Las Vegas. Marti is survived by her husband, Steve; mother, Mary Morgan of Reno; sister, Ann Morgan (Bruce Beesley) of Reno; sister, Sara Beth (Gary) Brown of Reno; brother, Robert Morgan (Michael Welch) of Los Angeles; nephew, Morgan James (Yessica Morales) Brown; grandniece, Sara Rose of Ensenada, Mexico; and niece, Elizabeth Morgan-Beesley and nephew, Robert Morgan-Beesley both of Reno. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 200 Island Ave., Reno. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to JDRF Diabetes Foundation of Northern Nevada, www.jdrf.org/northernnevada
