MARY LOUISE FALCONE Mrs. Mary Louise Matt Falcone, 95, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in Newport, R.I., with her loving family by her side. While her family has lost a loving matriarch, Heaven has gained a new angel. Mary Louise was born in Utica, N.Y., April 17, 1917, to Carmine S. and Amalia Palombo Matt. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. She went on to attend Rochester Dental Dispensary, where she received a degree as a dental hygienist. She also took many continuing education courses at Syracuse University, Columbia University, Albany State, and Buffalo State. She was a registered New York state dental hygienist for over 43 years, spending most of that time as a Oneida County Public Health dental hygienist. Mary Louise was joined in marriage to Victor Falcone March 30, 1940. They shared 56 very loving years together, until Victor's death, Nov. 26, 1996. Mrs. Falcone was a member of the Winchester Belles Society, the Red Hat Society and Senior Friends while living in Las Vegas. As a breast cancer survivor herself, she also donated her time to Reach for Recovery and the American Cancer Society. A loving mother and grandmother, Mary Louise is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dr. S. Victor and Roberta Falcone of Las Vegas; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Jeffrey Ray, formerly of Las Vegas, with whom she resided in Newport; grandchildren, Melissa Falcone and Matt Osa of Las Vegas, Erica Falcone and David Henderson of North Kingstown, R.I., Matthew and Amanda Ray of Portsmouth, R.I., and Terence Ray of Newport; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews throughout the country.
