 MARY RESENDEZ Mary Esther Resendez, 68, a retired probation officer, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. She was born Jan. 20, 1944, in Canon City, Colo., and was a 47-year resident of Nevada. Mary graduated from Florence High School and went on to get her bachelor and masters degrees. She worked for Clark County for 35 years and loved to travel with friends. Mary travelled all over the world. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Augustine Resendez. Mary is survived by her brothers, Dave and Phil of Florence, Colo.; sister, Kathryn "Kat" Lakner (Bill) of Great Falls, Mont.; uncle, Casey; and many loving nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at St. Viator's Catholic Community Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road.
