MELBA TERRY Melba Levanger Terry, 86, passed away, Jan. 1, 2013, in the home of her son. Melba, born June 23, 1926 in Glendale, Utah, was the youngest child of Niels Christian Levanger and Charlotte Harris. Melba attended school in Glendale. She married her sweetheart, Melvin D Terry, while he was on leave from the Navy in 1945. They have lived in Las Vegas since 1959. She joined him in his hobby of CB Ham Radio Club, where they have many friends. She retired from the Clark County Schools Food Services having served at Las Vegas High School and Eldorado, where she was famous for her peanut butter cookies and cinnamon rolls. She is a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the children's organization and libraries. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings. Melba is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Stewart; sons, Steven (Margaret) Terry and Raymond (Jitka) Terry; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a neighborhood grandmother who always had treats to share. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, the LDS Chapel at 221 S. Lorenzi. Viewing will be at 2 p.m. Melba will be buried Saturday, Jan. 5 in Glendale.
