iconMICHAEL ELDRED Michael Eric Eldred, 62, of Las Vegas, passed away July 15, 2012, surrounded in love and laughter with his family. Born in Memphis, Tenn., Nov. 20, 1949, to Curtis and Belva Eldred, Michael served in the U.S. Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base, then returned to Las Vegas on his motorcycle after his discharge. As a child, he lived a military-civilian lifestyle, spending three years in Japan. Most of Mike's 37 years at Bally's Casino were spent as a bartender. Michael had an unusual sense of humor with a fine sense of the ridiculous, but was also gentle, sensitive, always putting others before himself. Because he made a such a valiant fight against cancer, bouncing back so many times, the family called him their "Energizer Bunny." He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; sons, Mark and Brandon; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol, Jane, Jean, Rosalyn and Diane. Services will be at noon Saturday, July 21, at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119, (702) 736-6200. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Orion Foundation, c/o Comprehensive Cancer Center of Nevada, 400 N. Stephanie St., #300, Henderson, NV 89104.
