 MILDRED PENWELL Mildred F. Penwell, 86, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, Nov. 26, 2012. She was born to Thomas and Louise Monaco, Dec. 5, 1925, in Barnstable, Mass. A 55-year resident of Las Vegas, Mildred was a homemaker, avid antique collector and a loving and devoted wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma to her entire family. "God looked around His garden and found an empty space, then He looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest, God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best." She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of nearly 50 years, Clifford R. Penwell. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Mercer (Tom Mercer) of Las Vegas; son, Cliff Penwell (Kathy Penwell) of Vashon Island, Wash.; grandson, Danny Mercer (Johnny Robinson) of Seattle; granddaughter, Michele Aurand (Ritchie Aurand); and great-granddaughter, Nicole Aurand of Las Vegas. Graveside services will be at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City (Gravesite V-847).
