MORRIS TALLARD Morris "Maurice" Edward Tallard, 85, of Las Vegas, was called home to be with Our Lord Nov. 9, 2012. He was born July 10, 1927, in Lowell, Mass., to Albert and Blanche Tallard. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942. He was stationed aboard the USS Quincy. Maurice was discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1945 with a new nickname, "Popeye," because of a tattoo of Popeye on his arm. Maurice started a band were he was the lead singer and guitar player for "Arkansas Mal and the Bay State Troubadours." In 1963, he married Joan G. (nee) Garey. They had four children, Kevin, George (deceased), Melody and Susette. He leaves behind 13 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and his sister, Constance Lupine. He worked for Nevada Ready Mix for 27 years. A hard-worker and provider for his family, he is dearly loved and will be missed. Services will be at noon, Saturday, Nov. 17, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
