MURIEL ADLER Muriel Albert Adler, 81, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was a Las Vegas resident for nearly 50 years. A renowned concert pianist and teacher, she performed throughout Canada and the United States. An acknowledged prodigy, Muriel gave her first public concert at the age of three and her first solo Carnegie Hall concert at 17. Settling in Las Vegas with her husband, renowned musician and artist, Wolf Adler, she helped to bring classical music to the valley in the early 1960's. Muriel's vast knowledge of musical history and love of education established her as one of the finest classical piano teachers. Her students have gone on to distinguished careers locally and internationally. With a joyous laugh and kind heart, she is remembered as a strong and bright light by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, David of Henderson. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89120. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Muriel Adler to the Las Vegas Music Teachers Association, 3468 Hawksbeard Court, Las Vegas, NV 89135.
