MYRTLE DEIST Myrtle A. Deist, 73, of Henderson, and formerly of Kearney and Hastings, Neb., passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, Ga. Myrtle was born Sept. 8, 1939, in Kearney, to George A. and Pearl Amy (Penny) Crowell. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1958. Myrtle then attended Peru State College and also Kearney State Teachers College, where she earned a master's degree in education. Myrtle taught school for 25 years in Nebraska, and 10 years in Nevada. She married Marvin Gerald Deist Aug. 20, 1961, in Kearney. Myrtle was preceded in death by an infant son, Daniel Lee Deist; her parents; brothers, Robert Crowell, Patrick Crowell, Mike Crowell; and sister, Reba Crowell. Myrtle is survived by her husband, of 51 years, Marvin Gerald Deist; son, David Allen Deist of Axtell, Neb.; daughter, Elaine Marthe Deist (Byron Louis) Milteer of Warner Robins; grandson, Joshua Louis Milteer; granddaughter, Georgia Aleece Milteer; grandson, Elijah Noah Milteer; brother, Albert (Beverly) Crowell of Elm Creek, Neb.; sisters, Florence (Lavern) Schmidt and of Marshfield, Mo., and Doris Meeks of Sacramento, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services, 2421 Ave. A., Kearney, NE 68848, (308) 237-2259. Burial following, at Kearney Cemetery. There will be no visitation. There will be a memorial gathering 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Sun City MacDonald Ranch, Association Clubhouse, 2020 W.
