NORMAJEAN SMITH Norma Jean Smith, 81, of Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 3, 2012 in Oregon. Norma was born Dec. 21, 1930 to Roy and Olive Harding in Ozawkie, Kan. She was a graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School and St. Joseph Hospital Nursing School in Kansas City, Mo. Norma worked much of her professional career as a registered nurse in Las Vegas. Norma and her husband, Lawrence Keith, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this year with their five children, Linda Smith of Concord, Calif., Vicki Skahan of Leavenworth, Kan., Tom Smith of Lostine, Ore., Kathy Bird of Henderson, and Debbi Miskulin of Ft. Collins, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Norma Jean's greatest joy was spending time with family, especially when it involved the celebration of their personal and professional accomplishments. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, canning, and traveling. Norma was an active member of Advent United Methodist Church, 3460 N. Rancho Dr., Las Vegas. where her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13. Norma Jean is remembered as a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, eternally devoted to her family and friends.
