 PATRICIA OLLIGES Patricia Hope Howard Olliges, 74, a loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, Friday, Oct. 12, 2012. She was born Oct. 9, 1938, in Houston, was raised in Albuquerque, N.M., and was a resident of Nevada since 1970. She was married to her husband, Ed, and together they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Patty graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1961 where she was the first women golfer. Patty was very active in the Southern Nevada golf community. In addition to being a passionate Booster of the UNLV Golf program, she served as a member of the UNLV Founders Club, as well as a 12-year member of the Las Vegas Country Club Board of Directors. She also served as president of the Las Vegas Country Club Ladies Golf Association. She has also been instrumental in supporting other major collegiate golf programs. Her generous donation made possible the development of the Howard Golf Complex on the Campus of UNM dedicated in 2001. She is also a member of the UNM Top 100 Club and is a recipient of the UNM Golden Lobo Award. Patricia is survived by her husband, Ed Olliges; son, Steven Olliges; daughter-in-law, Kari Olliges; daughter, Dana Arcana; son-in-law, Steve Arcana; and three wonderful grandchildren, Kailee, Jack and Ryan, all Las Vegas residents; sisters, Dotti Witt of Carlsbad, N.M., and Jackie Howard of Wichita Falls, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Theresa Howard of Albuquerque, N.M. Celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Donations can be made in her name to the Nathan Adelson Hospice or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
