PAUL YOUNG Paul John Young, Clark County Fire Captain, 55, passed away Sept. 22, 2012. He was born in Bordeaux, France, Oct. 17, 1956. He was a graduate of Clark High School in 1974. He began a 36-year career in the fire service and EMS, when at the age of 19, he became the youngest paramedic in the state of Nevada. He served on the Clark County Fire Department starting in 1988 to the present as a captain at Station 31. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen. Paul will be laid to rest with full fire department honors in a grave next to a former member of his crew, the late fire fighter Richard Washington. Paul leaves behind a loving wife, Jan; and devoted daughter, Nicole Danielle. Together, the three of them traveled the world. A public viewing was held 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Hope Baptist Church, 850 S. Cactus, Las Vegas, with doors opening at 9 a.m. Graveside services will immediately follow the services, with a fire department procession back to Davis Memorial Park. Even in death Paul continues to save lives by being an organ donor, something he would encourage each of you reading this to consider.
