RANSOM TERRELL Ransom Leon Terrell, 60, passed away unexpectedly in Las Vegas, Oct. 9, 2012. He was born in Tucson, Ariz., April 9, 1952. Ransom was a 24-year resident of Tucson, where he graduated from Amphi High School in 1970 and from the University of Arizona, where he was a football All-WAC Conference linebacker. He played in the 1974 Hula Bowl and thereafter, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. He relocated to Las Vegas in 1977, where he was a stockbroker and long-time employee of the Clark County School District. At the time of his passing, Ransom was a purchasing/warehousing coordinator. He was actively involved for many years as a coach for youth athletics and scout master and leader with Troop 848, at Community Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Greta Terrell of Tucson. Ransom is survived by his loving wife, of 26 years, Nancy; their son, Tyler; his sister, Jacqueline (Cato) Jones; and brother, Steve (Beth) Terrell. Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, on the corner of Eastern and Patrick. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 848, c/o Chaplin Jerry Routh, Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89121.
