LT. COL ROBERT ADAMS U.S. Air Force, Retired Dr. Robert Nyle Adams, D.D.S., LtCol U.S. Air Force (retired), devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and friend, 79, of Henderson, passed away April 15, 2012. "Nyle" was born in Kanarraville, Utah, Aug. 25, 1932, to Bob and Hilda Adams. He enjoyed summers ranching sheep on Cedar Mountain, and attended school in Alamo. Sept. 18, 1953, he married the love of his life, Joyce Stewart, in the St. George LDS Temple. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 34 years, and was a dentist in the Henderson/Las Vegas valley for over 40 years. His favorite times were spent with family at the beach or at the mountain cabin. He was an avid reader and a huge fan of UNLV's Runnin' Rebels. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many leadership callings over the years. In his special way, he made everyone feel personally valued. He taught us the real worth of friendship and faith by being a true friend and a man who lived as he believed. Nyle is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Joyce; children, Shaunene Edwards (Sherrill), Janae Ficklin, Shane Adams, (Maura-Lee Albert), Lance Adams (Debbie), and Janet Benavidez; brother, Jim Adams (Sharon); sisters, Vera Jean Giles (Gary) and Chyree Stokes; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Viewing will be 3-7 p.m., Friday, April 20, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway. A second viewing will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 21, at 303 Cholla St. LDS Chapel, Henderson, with services following at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be at noon, Monday, April 23, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
