He touched the lives of so many people through his kindness, generosity and compassion. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, fishing and traveling. Rob's drive and commitment to the cause lead him to become the founder, president and chief executive officer of Evergreen Recycling in 1997. Rob's leadership and vision in providing comprehensive commercial and construction recycling services led to the successful acquisition of the company by Republic Services in 2010. Rob served as an advocate and was a founding member of the local chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council and was involved in the Nevada Recyclers Coalition, Association of General Contractors, Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA), NDA and the Chambers. Prior to starting Evergreen Recycling, Rob worked as a general contractor in California, and Las Vegas building custom homes and commercial projects. Rob has a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of California at Berkeley. Rob was not only passionate about recycling and preserving the worlds natural resources, he was committed to educating citizens and businesses on the importance of being green and making a difference in the quality of life in southern Nevada. He also was a proud supporter of many community causes including the ALS Foundation of Nevada, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, Safe Nest, Olive Crest, the Blind Center, Through the Eyes of a Child and the Ronald McDonald House. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., Friday, March 8, at Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. Services are open to the public. Family, friends and colleagues are all welcome.
