ROBERT WEEKS Robert Weeks, 88, of Henderson, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Nathan Adelson Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 30, 1923, in Talihina, Okla., to Florence and Wyatt Weeks, and was the youngest of five children, all of whom have preceded him in death. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, after which he worked briefly in staging at RKO Pictures, maintenance at Lockheed, and then started a partnership repairing and retrieving damaged planes from remote crash sites. He retired from the Teamsters and opened the family business Bob's Custom Cabinets in Crestline, Calif., where his skills as a craftsman shined. He was an unwavering fan of the Cubs and an avid admirer of men's and women's sports, having been a Golden Gloves boxer, a minor league baseball player, a very good golfer, and he even continued his weekly bowling leagues up until a month before his passing. He is survived by his devoted wife, whom he treasured for 57 years, Louise; his loving daughter, Pamela, whom he cherished; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved, enjoyed and admired him and will miss him more than words can express. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling the final arrangements. Services are not scheduled at this time. The family requests that all gifts and memorials are in the form of donations to Nathan Adelson Hospice in his name.
