ROSALIE HIGLEY Rosalie Juanita Higley, age 90, of Henderson, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, following a long and debilitating fight with Alzheimer's disease. She was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Pagosa Springs, Colo., to Juan B. and Pablita (Espinosa) Martinez. She had eight brothers and sisters. She married Charles T. Higley June 19, 1944, in San Bernardino, Calif. They moved to Henderson in 1954, where Charles, a carpenter, worked on the Stardust Hotel. They also resided 25 in-between years in Enterprise, Utah. Charles preceded her in death, Dec. 26, 1999. Rosalie was an amazing cook and loved to entertain and feed people. Playing cards was one of her favorite activities. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. Rosalie was a loving full-time mother, her life revolved around family. She is survived by her five children, Donna Carrington of Las Vegas, Charles Higley Jr. of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Jo Pinther of Gardnerville, Maria Edison of Henderson, and John and Sue Higley of Boulder City; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, who knew her as their "Gigi." She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Donelia Mullis of Cedar City, Utah, Jose Martinez of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Clara Martinez of Pagosa Springs, Colo. and Henderson, and Ray Martinez, also of Henderson. All our family and friends are invited to attend Mass at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
