SABINA RODAK Sabina "Sibbie" Theresa Glazewski Rodak, a 41-year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012. She was born in Weirton, W.Va., Dec. 13, 1922, and graduated from Follansbee High School. Sibbie married Joseph Rodak June 1, 1946 and had two sons, Thomas Joseph and Joseph Donald. She held positions in various occupations while raising a family. Joe, Sibbie and son, Joe, moved to Las Vegas in September 1971, where they were joined by Tom in 1973. She worked for Corral Coins for 15 years while caring for her husband until his death in 1986. Her passion and sense of purpose in life was to always help others. She volunteered as a senior companion for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, receiving proclamations from then Gov. Bob Miller and U.S. Senator Harry Reid for over 7,000 hours and 12 years of service. She continued until declining health in 2005. She bravely fought numerous ailments in her last seven years, amazing doctors, nurses, family and friends with her strength and toughness. Sibbie was the kindest, sweetest person who gave hope, companionship and help to many. She was preceded in death by father, Teador; mother, Rozalia; husband, Joseph; brothers, Walter, Charles and Edward; and sisters, Helen and Victoria. She is survived by sons, Tom and Joe; daughter in spirit, Graciela Quinonez; nieces; nephews; and in-laws. Her sons request acts of kindness to others in her memory. Services will be Saturday, Sept. 1, in Weirton.
