Obituary Condolences

SHERYL HUGHES Sheryl Lynn Knittel Hughes departed this life Jan. 16, 2013, at age 54. "Her death is a heartache no one can heal, her memory a keepsake no one can steal. Beautiful memories are all we have left, of a dear wife, daughter, sister and aunt we'll never forget. Peacefully sleeping, resting at last, the world's weary troubles and trials are past. She will always be with us, close to our hearts, 'til God calls us home where we never shall part." Sheryl, daughter of the late Harold Knittel and Marge Caseman Gray, was born in Las Vegas, March 18, 1958. Although she was christened Sheryl, she was known to her family and friends as Sherri. Sherri attended Western High School, being a member of the graduating class of 1976. Sherri was preceded in death by her father, Harold Knittel; and stepmother, Ruth. In addition to her mother, Marge Gray, she is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hughes; two brothers, Harold "Butch" Knittel of Las Vegas and Kevin (Jane) Knittel of North Las Vegas; niece, Skye (Nelson) Tressler; three grand-nephews, Dawson, Branson and Grayson, all of Las Vegas; and a number of aunts, cousins and friends, by whom she will be sadly missed. The lights of her life were her babies (dogs), Wyatt and Doc. She loved life and everything around her. She will be remembered by her special laugh which she had for all with whom she came in contact. Her smile reflected the goodness, happiness, humor, and friendliness which lay beneath. God in His great wisdom has taken our loved one from our midst. He knows we will be lonely, but He holds the reason for every tear we will shed. God knows the answer, the reason. These words will help us to know we must humbly submit to His will and be thankful that we were permitted to share the life of a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. With Love, the family of Sherri Knittel Hughes. Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, at Desert Memorial, 1111 N. Las Vegas Blvd.
