SHERYL WILKINS Sheryl M. Wilkins passed away on August 3, 2012 peacefully in her home with her loving husband and son by her side. Diagnosed with cancer over two years ago, Sheryl Marie Wilkins fought a heroic battle against her illness, never gave up hope and never complained. Sheryl was born April 9, 1956 in Okmulee, Okla., to Mom Opal and Father James Cromwell. She grew up in Rio Vista, Calif., with loving parents and family members. Sheryl met her husband Gary Wilkins in Lake Tahoe; they married Sept. 14, 1986. She welcomed Gary's children, Dan and Michelle, into her life. In 1997, her son, Austin, was born, completing their family. Sheryl worked in the casino business for close to 30 years, making many friends at Caesar's Palace, Wynn, and Encore. Sheryl loved the ocean, exercising, hiking, speed-walking, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. Sheryl had boundless energy, a contagious smile and kind heart. She will be missed by many. Sheryl was preceded in death by her stepsons, David and Dan. Sheryl is survived by her husband, Gary, and her son, Austin. Other survivors include stepdaughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Cordell Tobin, and sons, Logan and Hayden; her five adoring grandchildren, Damen, Mersadi, Jordan, Dylan, and Devin; her parents, mother Sara Jane and husband, Ron; sister, Elizabeth and husband, Mervin Miles; sister, Chris Callahan; sister, Katie Revira; sister, Theresa and husband, Randy Daggs; brothers, Dennis Callahan and his wife, Carol, and Tim Callahan and his wife, Leslie; and a number of fond nieces and nephews. Sheryl's life and courageous spirit will be celebrated in a visitation service from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 10, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Memorial services will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, at Faith Lutheran High School Auditorium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cheryl Wilkins Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo.
