SHIRLEY MANGNALL Shirley Anna Russell Mangnall, born March 30, 1940, passed away Dec. 13, 2013, shortly after 9 a.m. She had been in hospice for a little over one week, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Redlands, Calif., she was a resident of Henderson since 1997, but spent most of her life in Glenwood Springs, Colo. and Santa Barbara, Calif. She was a wonderful, warm and caring person with a gigantic heart. Shirley loved unconditionally, and everyone who knew her could always feel it. Her favorite things were gardening, dancing, music and anything having to do with creativity. She was very talented, and had a great flair when expressing herself with her creations. Her friendships were lifelong, because she truly knew how to be a great friend. Although her life was marked by great tragedy and loss, she never let it harden her heart. Always the first to make others feel special, loved and appreciated, Shirley was a shining light. She will be dearly missed by all who adored her. However, comfort lies in knowing she is finally, at last, at peace. She was preceded in death by father, Clyde Russell; mother, L. Marion Ousley Russell; former husband, Jerry Craig Mangnall; and son, Timothy Craig Mangnall. She is survived by daughters, Carol Ann Mangnall-Shade and Christine Leigh Mangnall-Schwarz; son-in-law, Gil Lempert-Schwarz; grandchildren, Spenser, Lauren and Maranda Shade, and Isabelle and Zoe Schwarz; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Irma Russell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Marilyn Mangnall, Billy Ann and Terry Taylor, and Chalmer Dee and Priscilla Mangnall. Memorial services for Shirley will be at noon, Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1420 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
