STEVE LANE Steve B. Lane passed away Dec. 9, 2012, at age 73, in Las Vegas, from heart failure. Born in Dodge City, Kan., he was raised and completed high school in Cimarron, Kan. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno, and later entered the military, serving in Korea. Following his discharge, he attended Kansas University and graduated from the KU Law School. In 1969, he became a deputy in the civil division of the district attorney's office in Reno. Lane later became a partner in the Hale Lane Peek Dennison Howard law firm, which became one of the largest in the state. In 1988, Lane moved to Las Vegas where he started the southern branch of Hale Lane. In 2008, the firm merged with Holland Hart and he continued to be a consultant. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert T. and Ann Angell Lane; and his brother, Michael L. Lane. He is survived by sons, Andy (Amy) and Jeffrey (Kathy) of Las Vegas; and sister, Gaye Delaplane of Reno. The lights of his life were four grandchildren, Peyton, Nolen, Collin and Mackensey of Las Vegas. Lane enjoyed his golfing friends and especially his time spent with his family and watching their sporting activities. He was a proud parent and grandparent. There will be a wake at noon, Monday, Dec. 17, at the Spanish Trails Country Club, Las Vegas.
