 SYLVANEE LONGWELL Sylvanee Longwell, 92, a long-time resident of Tempe, Ariz., passed away Nov. 7, 2012, in Oakland, Calif. She was born in Pana, Ill., Oct. 10, 1920, to Arthur "Shorty" and Alma Swinney, and moved to Phoenix in 1956. An avid sports fan, her love of the St. Louis Cardinals, Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks endured, but she became a fan of the San Francisco Giants. Sylvanee was preceded in death by her son, Edwin H. Longwell; and her husband, of 68 years, Edwin J. Longwell. She is survived by her son, Dr. Bill Longwell (Shirley); and daughter, Lynnette Del Rio-Walters (Robert); nine loving grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her beloved cats, Midget and Blackie. A special thanks to the staff at Alameda Care Center and Bay Area Health Care for all the love and care she received. There will be a private family service.
