Obituary Condolences

TOM KETELLE Tom Ketelle passed away Dec. 8, 2012. He was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Devils Lake, N.D., to Robert and Stena Ketelle. He attended grade school in Edmore, N.D., and high school at Marysville, Wash., graduating in 1947. He farmed in North Dakota, joined the U.S. Army and had an honorable discharge in 1954. He returned to farming until he started college at NDSU, graduating with a degree in agricultural economics in 1961. He married Mary Teresa Murphy in 1961, in Fargo, N.D. they had three sons, Daniel, Robert and John, and a daughter, Stena. He worked for Farm Credit in Hillsboro, N.D. and Wahpeton, N.D., and then resigned to work for the State Department in Laos for four years, where daughter, Mary Stena, was born. He returned to work with Farm Credit at Lamoure, N.D., Mankato, Minn., and back to Wahpeton, N.D., retiring in 1989. He worked a total of 24 years for Farm Credit. He joined the Peace Corps and worked in Jamaica, West Indies until 1991. He moved to Las Vegas in 1992, and was very active in St. Andrews Church. He was active in tennis and bocce. He was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved daughter, Mary Stena MacBride. He is survived by wife, Mary; sons, Daniel (Denise), Robert and John (Yvonne); and grandchildren, Jake and Ashley Ketelle, Kaitlin, Alexander, and Anna Ketelle, Megan and Elizabeth MacBride; brothers, Robert (Betty), Dick (Audrey) and William Ketelle; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 11, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 8901 Del Webb Blvd. Interment will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial, Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, give to memorial fund of St. Andrews or Lutheran Social Services.
