 VASSO DANGARD Vasso Dangard, 96, of Henderson, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012. She was born in Greece, and immigrated to Chicago, in 1934, living in Henderson, for over two years to be close to her family. She was the beloved mother of Joseph (Peggy) Yiakis and Vivian (Jim) Berendji; dearest grandmother of Peter (Stacy) Yiakis, Alex (Carrie) Yiakis, Chuck (Connie) Esposito and Joey (Cara) Esposito; and dear great-grandmother of Kallie, Little Joe, Benjamin, Sophie, Nicole, Lexi, Nicholas, D.J. and Jio. Vasso is also survived by her sister, Keveli; and brothers, Mimi and Tiki of Greece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Swen; and sisters, Tina and Anzel. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, with Trisagion service following. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, all at St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 El Camino Road, Las Vegas. Entombment will take place in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested in Vasso's name to the church.
