VELMA SWANCIGER Arizona City, Ariz.-Velma Edith Swanciger, 91, of Arizona City, died Nov. 25, 2012, at home. Mrs. Swanciger was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Decatur, Ill., and was the daughter of John Wisnasky and Minnie Landolt. She was a homemaker and a very kind and loving person. She helped build her daughter's restaurant, Flashbacks Diner, in Arizona City. She loved growing roses and was a member of Las Vegas Rose Club. Prior to moving to Arizona City, she and her husband enjoyed dancing, including square dancing. She was a member of Polka Boosters Dance Club and German American Club in Las Vegas. She was a member of Living Hope Community Church in Arizona City. Survivors include two sons, Gary L. and Larry B. Swanciger of Las Vegas; a daughter, Gloria D. Eddy of Arizona City; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; and three brothers, Melvin, Herschel and Paul Wisnasky. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, both at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, 525 N. Peart Road, Casa Grande, AZ 85122 (520) 836-8041, with Pastor Gary Biancini officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
