VERNE VANDERMOON Verne Vandermoon, of Las Vegas, lost his battle with cancer Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. He was born July 14, 1939, in Jeffers, Minn., to Earl and Margaret Vandermoon. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Kirschenman); his two sons, Brad (Sandy) and Todd (Cheryl); and four grandchildren, Ashley (Joey), Branden, Amber and Brittany. He is also survived by six siblings, Mavis, Clement, Ann (Rich), Ramona, Mary Ann and twin sister, Viola. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961 as a drafting illustrator. He retired from the Boeing Co. in 1994 with 33 years of service as a security captain. He loved his life living in Los Prados and golfing with his buddies five days a week. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2575 W. El Campo Grande Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89031.
