COL. WALACE HAWKINS Obituary
COL. WALACE HAWKINS U.S. Army, Retired In loving memory of Walace "Wally" E. Hawkins, 93 of Las Vegas, who passed away Nov. 4, 2012. He was born April 5, 1919, in Winters, Texas. Wally was a resident of Las Vegas since 1974. He was a veteran of World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was proud of his military career but prouder of his family. He played his beloved game of golf up until the last few months of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 64 years, Kay; father, Horace; mother, Louise; brother, Horace; and sister, Rita. He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Foley; son, Wally Hawkins III; daughter, Katie Kruse; sons-in-law, Paul Foley and Scott Kruse; grandchildren, Paul Foley Jr. (wife, Talarie), Susan Foley, Laura Drew (husband, Jim), Patrick Kruse, Ashleigh Ahrens, Ally Kruse, Andrew Kruse and Skyler Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Davis and Taryn Foley, Danny and Steven Gonzalez, Jack and Charlie Drew; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at St. George's Anglican Church, 7676 W. Gilmore Ave., Las Vegas. Inurnment following at 2 p.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. Open house reception following at the home of Katie Kruse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George's Anglican Church.
